Brown University e-Government Study
A study by researchers at Brown University has placed Singapore in the second position, ahead of the United States and Taiwan in the 2007 study. Singapore scored highly among a study of 198 countries and analysis of over 1,500 websites and was noted for having well-organised government websites with useful links and advanced search engines. The ranking for Singapore was a notch up from 2006. According to Brown University, Singapore scored high marks for online services, publications, databases, privacy policies and security policies. 73% of the Singapore government sites which the University analysed have online services and all sites assessed had publications, databases, privacy policies and security policies.
The report also gave special mention to the www.gov.sg portal, and noted that the site was well-organised and customised to users' needs. Useful links, advanced site search engine, RSS news feed and customer ratings were features highlighted that gave Singapore an edge over others for being citizen-centric in online service delivery.
Accenture e-Government Study and Ranking
The Singapore government was ranked 1st in an Accenture 2007 study on "Leadership in Customer Service". In this study, Singapore nudges Canada out of the number one position. It noted that Singapore edged in engaging its citizens and developing service models that are citizen-centric. Singapore was also substantially ahead of the other 22 countries Accenture ranked including USA and Denmark, in terms of proactive communication and education to its citizens.

Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) e-Readiness Ranking
The EIU e-Readiness Ranking measures the quality of a country's information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure and the ability of its consumers, businesses and governments to use ICT to their benefit. Singapore was ranked seventh in the EIU e-Readiness Ranking 2009. Denmark, Sweden, Nethelands, Norway, the United States and Australia topped the list in the ranking. Download the PDF report here.
Health Promotion Board's SHAPE and IDEAS Strike Gold 2006
The Health Promotion Board's (HPB) SHAPE and IDEAS took top honours in the healthcare sector in the Asia Pacific Information and Communication Technology Awards (APICTA). SHAPE and IDEAS is an integrated patient-centric clinical management system which manages about one million medical, vision and dental screening records and captures 300,000 immunization records annually for the school medical and dental service. It has radically improved clinical care, customer service and front desk services, resulting in a 50% decrease in patient registration time. The system has also reduced staff's administrative burden, translating to cost-savings of 6,500 man-days per year from manual preparation of treatment charts, compilation of work returns and appointment scheduling.
The system also clinched a Merit Award at the National Infocomm Awards 2006 for the most innovative use of infocomm in the public sector.
Supreme Court Portal Wins Top Spot in the Justice Served Top 10 Court Websites Award 2006
The Supreme Court portal won the top spot in the Justice Served Top 10 Court Websites Awards 2006. The annual website award was made by a US-based alliance of court management and justice experts. The two main criteria for the award are court functionality and web functionality. In awarding the top position to Supreme Court, the organisers had this to say about the website: "This website deserves the highest honour for the number and sophistication of online court services. It has online e-filing, access to judgements, Law-Net litigation support, booking of the high tech courtroom and booking of the "Mobile Info-Tech Trolley". This is a great example of migrating court services to the web."
URA Digital 3D Urban Model System clinches ESIG Award 2011
URA Digital 3D Urban Model System has won the prestigious 2011 Exemplary Systems in Government (ESIG) Award in the Enterprise Systems Category from Urban and Regional Information Systems Association (URISA).
URISA is an international, non-profit Geographic Information Systems (GIS) association that promotes effective and ethical use of spatial information to improve quality of life in urban and regional environments.
The ESIG Review Committee commended, “This solution was deemed exemplary because this system was built not only to innovatively serve the needs of the jurisdiction and the community, but to embrace a cutting edge technology. The combination of 3D technology with 2D GIS technology has provided URA staff and their community with the tools to visualize the impact of urban development. Projects like these move the GIS and planning industries forward.”
