 | Objectives To allow all national service to conveniently access important e-services and information online and to connect with their NS buddies via community-building features | | Fast facts |  | Launch date | Nov 2006 |  | No. of e-services | 167 | Introduction: The National Service Portal is the first unified portal for all National Service (NS) personnel in Singapore including those from the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) and Singapore Armed Forces, and from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Singapore Police Force and Singapore Civil Defence Force. The project is an example of public-private sector collaboration, leveraging on MINDEF's domain knowledge, and the private sector's technical and commercial expertise. It is developed and operated by the NCS Group, which is responsible for its account administration, portal maintenance, innovation, and bringing in additional lifestyle content and benefits. Programme Details: The National Service Portal allows National Servicemen (NSmen) to conveniently access important e-services and information online and to connect with their NS buddies via community-building features. It improves service delivery through electronic and mobile channels and encourages online communication and bonding among the NS population. Besides NSmen, its services also reach out to other members of the NS community, including pre-enlistees, Full-Time National Servicemen (NSFs), in-service personnels and employers. The National Service Portal was commended by CIO Asia in its 100 best projects honours list in 2007, and was a finalist in the Public Administration category at Stockholm Challenge 2008.
