| 19 October 2009 The Information Technology Authority of Oman (ITA) and the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) have extended the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) which was signed in October 2007 to collaborate on various aspects of ICT. These include the use of ICT in government and various economic sectors such as education, finance, healthcare and tourism, and promoting exchanges on the use of ICT by the government and private sectors. |
| 16 October 2009 The Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore will be leading a delegation of nine infocomm companies to Dubai this weekend to participate in the largest ICT tradeshow in the Middle East. GITEX Technology Week 2009 will take place from 18 to 22 October 2009. Exhibiting under the Infocomm Singapore banner, these companies will showcase infocomm products and solutions relating to ICT infrastructure and security, as well as award-winning e-Government solutions such as the Online Business Licensing System. |
| 22 September 2009 The Ministry of Education (MOE), together with NCS Pte Ltd and Google, will be working together to make available the Google Apps (Education version) suite of online communications and collaboration tools to more than 30,000 teachers and staff in over 350 schools in Singapore by end 2009. This will make MOE the first Ministry in Singapore to adopt an open standard cloud computing platform and the first in Asia to provide Web 2.0 communication and collaboration tools to all teachers in the public school system. |

OpenNet has been issued a Facilities-Based Operator Licence for it to commence the roll out of the Next Gen NBN. |

Under its proposal, StarHub will establish the Next Gen NBN OpCo, called Nucleus Connect, to design, build and operate the active infrastructure. |
